Well, since Bru.air is applying 30 minutes turn-arounds, in order to operate one extra flight daily, I m sure some incidents will be happening there too, as pilots try to catch-up some end-of-day delays. You though can't really compare bru.air with Ryanair, the scale of the operations is not the sam...

Yes it's true, but be ready to pay your 737 type-rating yourself and to have a filled flight log, because you won t be entering with your 300TT you graduate with. Count at least 1000TT. As they say, there are 2 piles of applications on airliner'...

Dear LX, As you say, Easyjet and Ryanair have dropped passengers in the past. But do not forget that these companies operate short-haul exclusively. Bru.air dropped passengers of a long-haul flight. That s something else already, don t you think? When you operate long-haul and pax pay a full price, ...

I think Ryanair is safer. Their safety records are way better than that of Belgian carriers in general, but they operate 1000s of flights everyday, so it is normal they have some incidents happening here and there. It is safer to hire well-qualified pilots, look for instance at TNT's recent accident...

Sorry but this is just nonsense. Companies in the Netherlands do exactly the same. I know loads of guys who joined DenimAir, KLM, Transavia, TUIfly Netherlands who joined with low hours. Well at KLM they take you with low hours but you will start as 2nd officer on the 3rd seat on the B747's long-ha...

Lx, I agree with you that the staff has to support its new brand, but the management is making use of the brand name change to set new rules, in the disadvantage of the staff. Althoug I am not a Bru.air staff and I shared in the beginning the same point of view as you are expressing, talking with st...

EBCI closed many times this afternoon
EBCI closed many times for more than 1 hour today.
The runway inspection vehicle was on the runway too often.
They though did open when WIZZAIR's and Ryanair's were there but General Aviation was told to hold or to go somewhere else.
Anyone have any informations?

A bit off-topic: Politicians should actually be payed the less as they can t even approve Flight schools as being official schools approved by the ministry of education. Belgium is one of the last countries in Europe to be avoiding that... It s such a shame, making hard-working students pay that 21%...

I totally agree with the last post. Bru.air has nothing to attract people, only desperate pilots with low hours seeking a job would find it attractive. Perhaps a new era has to come for Belgian aviation and the SN/VEX merging was only a discontinuity of the transitory period we are in. I hope that b...

Yeah one week of strikes is about enough to pull the company down. Company has no money, so pays pilots less, pilots don t wanna fly for little so strikes, so company looses even more money and has to save even more on salaries and other costs... Looks pretty much like Alitalia, except for the fact ...

Thomas cook stuck in Lanzarote with 176 pax
A Thomas Cook flight was stuck in Lanzarote yesterday due to a oil leak.
Seems they re gonna send the parts and try to take-off with the 176 pax from there tonight, though that seems after tests are accomplished successfully
This company has such a bad break-down record!!

Sometimes I think they have a lack of imagination. They don t know where to send their planes to. So they send them 3 times per day or 5 times per day on the same routes. A 737 has enough range to serve destinations like Cairo and the middle-east without problems. If they sell tickets for a bit less...
