Last night, Aeroclub/vliegclub Westerwolde located in Vliegveld Stadskanaal, Vledderveen, The Netherlands had some unexpected visitors. A few people broke into various hangars, vandalized different aircraft and stole several aircraft parts: avionics, glass cockpits, headsets and engines. Tools and gear from both the Vliegclub Westerwolde and from private pilots.
The damage to aircraft is really huge – up to €100,000 – that’s why the owners are looking for witnesses to the theft. A generous financial reward awaits the informant who can point to the burglars.
