SkeyDrone will provide drone detection and airspace security at the Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps (25–27 July), enhancing safety at one of the sport’s most iconic tracks as Formula 1 celebrates its 75th anniversary.
The company’s real-time drone detection system identifies drone model, altitude, speed, and location—as well as the pilot’s position—allowing rapid threat response. With only a few authorised drones permitted, SkeyDrone’s whitelisting feature helps security teams differentiate between approved and unauthorised flights.
“We’re honoured to support this world-class event by securing the lower airspace,” said Didier Decaestecker, Head of Sales at SkeyDrone.
“It is essential to take proactive measures to protect our fans, staff, and teams,” said François Detroux, Logistics & Security Manager at Spa Grand Prix.
This deployment reinforces SkeyDrone’s growing role in event and critical infrastructure security across Belgium and Europe, reflecting a broader shift toward intelligent, integrated airspace safety management.
