Everdrone has launched its next-generation emergency medical transport drone, the E3, marking a significant performance upgrade over its predecessor. Fully developed in-house, the E3 replaces the earlier E2 platform—previously based on commercial components—with a purpose-built system tailored to emergency healthcare requirements.
The E3 is faster, more robust, and capable of carrying heavier payloads. It supports up to 4.5 kg—more than double the E2’s 2 kg capacity—enabling transport not only of defibrillators but also adrenaline for anaphylaxis, opioid overdose antidotes, bandages, and tourniquets. The modular payload bay is designed for flexibility across multiple emergency scenarios.
Technically, the drone features four rotor pairs with eight blades, incorporates components from suppliers including Ligpower and Aston Harald Composite, and measures 90 × 75 × 55 cm (excluding propellers) with a total weight of 24 kg. Proprietary vibration damping enables cruising speeds exceeding 80 km/h. The system operates autonomously under remote operator supervision, with battery configurations continuously evaluated to enhance endurance.
According to CEO Mats Sällström, the E3 significantly reduces response times. While ambulances in Sweden take an average of 10 minutes to reach emergency scenes, the E3 can typically arrive in under three minutes, positioning it as a life-saving complement to traditional emergency medical services.
