WOW air has been named Low-Cost Airline Of The Year. This was announced during the CAPA World Aviation Outlook Summit 2018 in Berlin. WOW air is praised for its concept of one-stop service between Europe and North America.
The Low-Cost Airline of the Year Award was created for the low-cost or hybrid airline that excels the most in the strategic field, has established itself as a leader, is the most innovative and an example for others. WOW air received the award because of the pioneering with the concept of low-cost one-stop services between Europe and North America via the hub in Reykjavik. Since March 2015, WOW air has entered the transatlantic market and can already be labelled as the second largest low-cost carrier with a market share of 1.7%.
The CAPA Aviation Awards for Excellence are designed to identify airlines and airports that are not only successful but also show leadership in an ever-changing industry.
