The low-cost airline is expanding its fleet with increasingly efficient aircraft

The fleet of WOW air will soon be expanded with a new A330neo: the Airbus aircraft is currently in the final assembly phase. The introduction of the new airliner is part of WOW air’s fleet modernisation. The low-cost airline is thus aiming for an even higher efficiency of its fleet.

The A330-900 belongs to the new generation widebody aeroplane family with an extra wide hull, which creates more space in the aircraft, improving capacity and passenger comfort. The aircraft is powered by Roll Royce Trent 7000 engines with a newly assembled engine gondola, a new fully streamlined titanium piton, new wings and a new cabin.

The aircraft is equipped with all kinds of modern functions, including specially developed curved Sharklet wingtips – which have been developed with the A350 XWB technology and extend the span up to 64 meters. In addition, the new technology ensures that the Trent 7000 double combustion engines are more efficient and produce less noise.

At the end of 2018, the A330neo enter into service and will join the fleet on long-distance routes such as to California. WOW air already has one of the most modern fleets in the world, on average, an aircraft age of no more than 2.9 years. WOW air currently flies to 38 destinations throughout Europe and North America. As of 28 April 2018, WOW air will start with flights from Schiphol with new routes to the American cities of Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, St. Louis and Dallas.
