After the first passengers boarded the Fokker 50 from Maribor airport to Munich on February 12, VLM Airlines started connecting the Styrian and Bavarian capitals every working day of the week. However, after mid-April, flights can be booked only on Wednesdays and Fridays. Yves Panneels, a spokesman for VLM, confirmed that the flights are cancelled on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Asked about the announcement of a possible termination of the route, he replied that it would not be cancelled. According to him, the connection should remain in the future for two days a week.

This means that the morning flight departing from Antwerp to Maribor via Munich will remain for several hours in Munich during three days in the week, continuing to Maribor only on the two other days.

During the first 7 weeks after its inception, the load factor on the Munich-Maribor leg was a meagre 11.9%.
