There is little to no chance that VLM Airlines N.V. (Brussels) will rise from the ashes, newspaper La Libre Belgique reports.
On 18 December, the ACMI and charter carrier that operated from Brussels Airport was declared bankrupt. “I am afraid that the company will face liquidation,” said Dirk De Maeseneer, one of the three curators.
According to him, few elements plead in favour of potential buyers: eighty employees have been dismissed and VLM Airlines N.V. (Brussels) doesn’t own any aircraft. Besides, the leasing contract with the only aircraft in the fleet has ended. Furthermore, traffic rights are not transferable.
