140 passengers of Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium are stranded at Tenerife

According to Belgian newspaper website Nieuwsblad.be, 140 passengers of Thomas Cook flight HQ1509 are stranded at Tenerife. Their Airbus A320 plane registered OO-TCT was damaged after being hit by ground equipment during pushback.

The flight, which was scheduled to depart at 19.30 last Friday (9 June 2017), was cancelled and was rescheduled to leave Tenerife at 10.30 on Saturday. That flight was later also cancelled because no replacement aircraft was found.

According to the Thomas Cook spokesman, the passengers will arrive with a delay of 36 hours and the passengers will be compensated as stated in the EU Passenger Rights regulation.
