On 28 February, a FlyBe Embraer ERJ-195LR (G-FBEJ) was lined-up and ready for take-off on runway 26 at Exeter Airport. One of the engines made a loud bang and smoke and haze quickly filled the cabin. An emergency evacuation was immediately started. The aircraft carried 100 passengers and 5 crew members. The airline was forced to cancel the flight to Alicante.
