Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has started operating its brand new summer sun route between Doncaster Sheffield airport and Palma de Mallorca. To celebrate the inaugural flight and make the day extra special, Doncaster Sheffield airport surprised the lucky customer who made the very first booking for the first flight by presenting her with access to their Premium Lounge where she enjoyed free food and drink before her flight.
Palma is the capital of the Spanish island of Mallorca and offers a great variety of resorts to suit all tastes plus, of course, delivering lots of sunshine – a total of 2,779 hours a year.
The twice weekly service operates through to 2nd October 2017, operating every Monday and Friday. One way fares from £39.99 including taxes and charges are available for booking at www.flybe.com.

Vincent Hodder, Flybe’s Chief Revenue Office, commented:
We are pleased to begin flying this new route from Doncaster Sheffield. The timing of the service gives Yorkshire-based passengers the flexibility to choose between either a long weekend or a full week or two in the sun. We look forward to welcoming all our new passengers on board.
Chris Harcombe, Head of Aviation Development at Doncaster Sheffield Airport said:
It was great to welcome Judith and Emily to the airport today along with all of the other passengers making the most of this new route.
It is always fantastic to see the first flight set off on its new journey. Our customers asked for more low cost flights to quality holiday spots and we listened to them.
Flybe worked to add this route to its already impressive range of popular sun soaked destinations, with great prices and schedules too. Today marks a moment of advancement for our region and it’s connections with top quality holiday destinations.
