No consequences for Air Berlin pilot after spectacular go-around manoeuvre on last long-haul flight

Share

The Langen-based Federal Supervisory Authority for Air Navigation Services, the German national supervisory authority for civil air navigation services (or Bundesaufsichtsamt für Flugsicherung – BAF) concluded the investigation on the spectacular go-around at Dusseldorf Airport on Air Berlin’s very last long-haul flight before going into receivership.

On 16 October 2017 at 8:00 am the pilot made a spectacular go-around with a left hand turn at Dusseldorf Airport, the pilot gained much sympathy with his “tribute to Air Berlin”-manoeuvre but was also criticised: some passengers complained about the procedure.

A few days ago the BAF announced that there will be no consequences for the pilot of Air Berlin flight AB7001.
