Starting May, airberlin is expanding its route network from Berlin-Tegel to include four new European destinations in the summer schedule. One weekly non-stop service will take off for each of the destinations Jerez de la Frontera in the Spanish region of Andalusia and to the British Channel Island of Jersey. What’s more, airberlin is adding two new destinations to its Croatia programme, and from 21 May 2016 will operate one weekly flight each Saturday to Dubrovnik, and a Sunday and Wednesday service to Split, starting 22 May 2016.

“This summer we will provide over 800 weekly non-stop flights from Berlin-Tegel to 66 destinations around the world. This makes us by far the number one carrier at our local hub, where we hold a market share of over 50 percent. I am delighted that we are expanding our flight services to the benefit of our guests and will start the summer season with four new destinations”, says Stefan Pichler, CEO airberlin.

„We are pleased with the expansion of the airberlin route network from Berlin-Tegel to Jerez de la Frontera, Jersey, Split und Dubrovnik. We wish airberlin all-time happy landings“, said Dr. Karsten Mühlenfeld, CEO Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH.

Jerez de la Frontera – Sherry, horses and flamenco
The old town of Jerez de la Frontera with its fortress of Alcazár and the Church of San Dinonisio is considered part of Spain’s cultural heritage. The world-famous sherry carries the city’s name. Jerez is also renowned for the Carthusian horses that visitors are welcome to admire in the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art. The city is also seen as one of the birthplaces of Flamenco. The expansive beaches hugging the Costa de la Luz are certainly worth a visit.

Jersey – Idyllic nature in the British Channel
The largest of the Channel Islands presents a heady blend of British and French influences. Nature enthusiasts are welcome to explore Jersey by bicycle or on foot. Perched up on the rugged cliffs, visitors enjoy the stunning view across the waters, rising and falling in the rhythm of the tides. Secluded in the Gulf of Saint Malo, the island has sandy beaches with ideal conditions for surfers and kiters.

Dubrovnik – Pearl of the Adriatic
Picturesque sandy beaches, breath-taking rocky coastlines, turquoise seas and sunshine almost all year round: Dubrovnik in Croatia is an unrivalled holiday paradise. Additionally, the lively old town – a fantastic place to amble and stroll to your heart’s delight – is brimming with historical buildings, Mediterranean flair and innumerable outstanding cafes, bars and restaurants. Holidaymakers can take a trip with the cable car to enjoy the magnificent view.

Split – 1700 years if history at your fingertips
Split, Croatia’s second largest city, sits proud on an Adriatic peninsula while gazing back over almost 1700 years of history. The heart of the old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, is spread around the Palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian, and today houses churches, residential buildings and businesses. The port makes Split an important transport hub, and numerous ferries set off from here for the islands located round about.
