Private jet operator AirX has introduced its first Bombardier Challenger 604 into service as part of a broader strategy to expand its fleet and strengthen its position across different private aviation market segments.
The aircraft, registered 9H-ATGT, is intended to bring long-range capabilities into the super-midsize jet category while improving operational profitability. Recently refurbished and repainted, it offers a stand-up cabin for 8 to 10 passengers, upgraded in-flight entertainment, and enhanced onboard comfort.
Founder John Matthews described the move as the first step in the company’s “Race to 50” strategy, aimed at growing the fleet and scaling operations. Rather than simply adding capacity, AirX says the aircraft will help it apply competitive pricing pressure across multiple charter segments while maintaining tight cost control and strong EBITDA performance per aircraft.
The fleet expansion follows a successful €115 million covered bond financing round, which AirX says strengthens its financial position for continued growth.
Founded in 2011, AirX operates a fleet of 20 VIP and long-range aircraft and employs more than 450 people. The company continues to emphasise a broker-focused charter model and global partnership network.
