Flix, the global travel-tech company behind FlixBus, is expanding into Australia, its fifth continent, just in time for the local summer travel season. This move continues Flix’s strategy of global growth, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, which is projected to see strong growth in intercity coach travel. Australia represents both a standalone opportunity and a strategic addition to Flix’s APAC ambitions.
Flix will replicate its successful asset-light model—combining global tech with local bus operator partnerships—to deliver digital, customer-focused travel services. Yvan Lefranc-Morin, a 10-year Flix veteran, will lead the Australian operations from a new Sydney office.
With a track record of success across 44 countries and over 500 million passengers served, Flix aims to modernise Australia’s coach travel market and build a sustainable, tech-driven future for long-distance travel.
