The Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia is the companion facility to the Museum on the National Mall in Washington, DC. Two large hangars display thousands of aviation and space artifacts, including a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, an Air France Concorde, the Virgin Atlantic GlobalFlyer, the famous Enola Gay Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber, and the Space Shuttle Discovery.
Like every museum in Washington, DC admission is free. Definitely worth a visit!

The Center also offers the Airbus IMAX® Theater and the Mary Baker Engen Restoration Hangar. Researchers will also find the majority of the Archives’ collections at the Udvar-Hazy Center reading room.
Another highlight of the museum is the Donald D. Engen Observation Tower, where you can follow (and listen to) air traffic at Washington Dulles airport (IAD).
