Zurich Airport handled 3,326,119 passengers in August 2026, up 1.8% from the same month last year. Local traffic accounted for 2,303,777 passengers, while 1,016,420 passengers transferred through the airport, representing 30.6% of the total.
Aircraft movements rose more strongly, increasing by 2.9% to 26,009 take-offs and landings. However, the average number of passengers per movement fell by 2.2% to 142.6, while the average seat load factor declined by 1.4 percentage points to 83.4%.
Cargo traffic remained broadly stable, with 34,444 tonnes of freight handled during the month, down 0.4% year on year.
