Warsaw Modlin Airport (WMI)

At long last a new airline next to Ryanair at Warsaw Modlin airport

Not only Ryanair, but also planes of charter airline Enter Air are now taking off from Modlin Airport. On Thursday, for the first time, an Enter Air flight took TUI vacationers to Tunisia.

Until now, Modlin airport was only a base for Irish low-cost airline Ryanair. Initially, Modlin also hosted Hungarian low-cost Wizz Air, but the latter consulted its frequent passengers, who massively selected more centrally located Chopin Airport as their preferred airport of departure in Warsaw.

Modlin representatives in March announced that soon the passengers would also see planes with the Buzz logo. It’s a brand that belongs to Ryanair for some time. Both Ryanair and Buzz will operate regular routes from Modlin and also charter flights in the future.

New destinations from Modlin: Tunisia, Turkey and Albania

On April 25, Enter Air entered the market. This is a Polish charter airline that transports holiday-makers from Chopin Airport, and also from Pyrzowice in Silesia (an airport near Katowice), Pozna? and Wroc?aw. From Modlin, Enter Air for the first time took customers of tour operator TUI Polska, the second largest on the Polish tourist market. Vacationers flew to Enfidha in Tunisia. The next flights in that direction will take place every Thursday until October 10.

TUI Polska also sells trips from Modlin to Antalya in Turkey (from May 29 to October on Wednesdays and Saturdays). The tour operator proposes also flights to Tirana, Albania, on Mondays from June 3 until the end of September.

The president of the airport company in Modlin, Leszek Chorzewski, described the beginning of regular charter flights as “a breakthrough and the beginning of changes“. He added that talks with other travel agencies are in progress about the launch of the next routes.

Thanks to Enter Air, Modlin gains connections with three new countries. The number of destinations now exceeds 50. In the first quarter of 2019, the airport saw 718,635 passengers, or more than 5 percent more than in the similar period of 2018.
