Cargo transport increases at Warsaw Chopin airport

Share

In July 2016 the mass of transported cargo at Chopin Airport amounted to more than 6,180 tonnes. This represents an increase of almost 21 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

Since the beginning of the year 38,420 tonnes have been transported, compared y-o-y to seven months of 2015 it is an increase of 17 percent.

The weight of transported mail in July totaled 1,009.5 tonnes – it is less by about 7 percent than last year. The decrease in weight of transported mail is also visible within the seven months of the current year – 7.883 tonnes were transported, an decrease by approx. 2 percent.

The increase in cargo means that the carriers see Chopin Airport as an important airport in the region. Higher quantities of cargo transported may be a result of the introduction of larger passenger planes in June – B767 of Air Canada Rouge and A330 of Qatar Airways.
