Security measures were activated at Warsaw Chopin Airport after a 29-year-old woman was seen with the word “bomb” written on her forehead in lipstick while moving through the terminal.
Airport staff alerted border guards, who isolated the woman, identified as a Ukrainian national travelling to Zurich, and carried out a full personal and baggage search. She told officers the inscription was intended “as a joke.”
Authorities said the incident constituted a breach of airport security regulations. The woman was fined 500 z?oty (approximately €118) and denied boarding her flight.
Poland’s Border Guard stressed that aviation security is treated with absolute seriousness, warning that any action suggesting a potential threat prompts immediate intervention, legal consequences, and disruption not only for the individual involved but also for other passengers.
