Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania has issued a final ruling confirming that Vilnius Airport lawfully increased its airport charges in 2023, rejecting appeals from Ryanair and Wizz Air.
The court found that Lithuanian Airports followed all legal and procedural requirements when implementing the new pricing structure, which was driven by rising operational costs and marked the first adjustment since 2018.
Airport charges—covering services such as passenger handling, aircraft landing, parking, and special assistance—are regulated under EU rules and must reflect actual costs and investments. The ruling confirms that Vilnius Airport complied with these principles.
Despite the dispute, traffic continued to grow between 2023 and 2025, with passenger numbers rising 16% and flights increasing 9%. Both Ryanair and Wizz Air also expanded their operations at the airport during this period.
The decision brings legal certainty to the airport’s pricing model, with charges remaining unchanged since their introduction in 2023 while maintaining regional competitiveness.
