The Flughafen Wien Group handled 4.04 million passengers in June 2026, a slight 0.2% increase year-on-year, despite a 5.9% decline at Vienna Airport to 2.83 million travellers.
Vienna attributed the drop to reduced low-cost airline capacity and the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, which has led to fewer flights. Local passenger numbers fell by 7.3%, while transfer traffic increased by 2.5%. Flight movements were down 4.5%, although the average seat load factor remained stable at 80.7%. Cargo volumes rose 5.0% to 27,058 tonnes.
Elsewhere in the group, Malta Airport recorded strong growth of 16.9% to 1.08 million passengers, while Košice Airport welcomed 127,174 travellers, up 28.0%.
During the first six months of 2026, the Flughafen Wien Group handled 19.98 million passengers, an increase of 1.9%, while Vienna Airport alone saw traffic decline 3.2% to 14.27 million passengers.
