Share

Vienna Airport handled 154,001 tonnes of freight between January and June 2025, a 9% year-on-year increase (+12,822 tonnes). Growth was strongest in April (+13%) and May (+15%), driven by e-commerce and new long-haul routes.

Belly cargo rose by 16% to 67,070 tonnes, with May alone up 25% year-on-year.

Pharma Handling Centre volumes grew 12% to 2,040 tonnes, strengthening Vienna’s role as a specialist hub in Central and Eastern Europe.

Imports climbed 4% to 81,162 tonnes, while exports surged 15% to 72,839 tonnes.

Airport leadership sees further growth potential in e-commerce and cargo connections, supported by new freighter stands, modern handling facilities, and trained personnel.
