Flughafen Wien AG delivered a strong operational performance in 2025, increasing revenue by 7.2% to €1.13 billion, despite a one-off accounting impact linked to the terminated third runway project. Group net profit reached €210.1 million, down from €239.5 million in 2024, while EBITDA declined 6.8% to €412.4 million.
The earnings dip was primarily driven by a €55.9 million derecognition of assets related to the cancelled runway expansion. Management said robust underlying business growth offset roughly half of the negative impact.
Despite lower net income, the management board will propose a dividend of €1.65 per share, unchanged from the prior year. This represents a payout ratio of around 75% and a dividend yield of approximately 3%.
Vienna Airport handled a record 32.6 million passengers in 2025. For 2026, the outlook is more cautious, with expectations of approximately 30 million passengers in Vienna and 41.5 million across the Group, including Malta and Košice.
The long-term target is ambitious: 40 million passengers annually at Vienna Airport by 2035.
All business segments contributed positively:
Airport segment revenue rose to €536.5 million (EBIT: €96.0 million).
Handling & Security Services increased revenue to €198.0 million, supported by record air cargo volumes (EBIT: €8.7 million).
Retail & Properties generated €215.0 million (EBIT: €97.2 million), benefiting from higher passenger-driven commercial income.
Malta segment saw strong growth, with revenue climbing to €157.0 million and EBIT reaching €75.4 million.
Capital expenditure reached €281.3 million in 2025, up sharply from €189.8 million in 2024. The largest project is the Terminal 3 Southern Expansion, which alone accounted for €127.4 million last year.
Investment will rise further to a record €330 million in 2026, fully financed from company funds in Vienna. Key projects include:
Completion of the Terminal 3 Southern Expansion (opening in 2027)
Expansion of Pier North for additional wide-body capacity (completion by 2031)
Roll-out of CT scanners at all security checkpoints by summer 2026
Construction of Office Park 4 NEXT (17,000 m² of new office space, opening 2028)
For 2026, the Group forecasts:
Revenue of approx. €1.05 billion
EBITDA of around €415 million
Net profit before non-controlling interests of about €210 million
Capital expenditure of approx. €330 million
Management expects stable earnings despite planned fee reductions and slightly lower passenger numbers, assuming no major geopolitical disruptions.
The AirportCity development continues to expand, with 20 new companies established in 2025 and five additional space-tech firms set to join the “VIE Space Hub” in 2026. A third hotel—set to become the largest in Lower Austria with 510 rooms—will soon open.
Vienna Airport also reinforced its quality credentials, receiving the ASQ Award from ACI as Best Airport at Departures (25–40 million passengers/Europe) and the Skytrax award for Best Airport Staff Europe for the fifth time.
