Stockholm Arlanda Airport recorded the best punctuality among Europe’s 40 busiest airports during the summer, according to Eurocontrol.

Between 1 June and 31 August, 82.1% of flights at Sweden’s largest airport operated on time, placing Arlanda ahead of Oslo Gardermoen and Istanbul Airport.

Airport operator Swedavia attributed the result to closer cooperation between the airport, airlines and ground-handling companies. Particular attention was given to punctual morning departures, as delays early in the day can disrupt subsequent aircraft rotations and cause knock-on delays.

Swedavia said it would continue working with its partners to maintain high punctuality levels at Arlanda and across its other Swedish airports.
