Snowfall hits U.K. airports and some European airports

On Twitter some people are complaining that airports and airlines are struggling with the current snowfall in the United Kingdom and Europe, a temperature of zero or -1C however is not that easy to deal with than a good hard frost (-25C). When it’s zero degrees, it’s moist and there will be ice. An overview of the current situation at different airports.

All flights inbound London Stansted (STN) and London Luton Airport (LTN) are currently holding or diverting.

Birmingham (BHX) and East Midlands (EMA) are closed until midday.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines cancelled 94 flights on medium-haul on Sunday.

Passengers on twitter are complaining about their delayed flights to London Heathrow.

Runways at Brussels Airport were temporarily closed due to the snow, Alitalia flight AZA156 diverted to Liège Airport (http://www.aviation24.be/forums/viewtopic.php?p=359510#p359510)

Finnair AY1541 was forced to attempt a second time to land at Brussels Airport.
