Shannon Airport temporarily suspended operations Thursday evening after a white van breached the perimeter fence and three individuals in orange jumpsuits ran onto a taxiway.
The van became stuck in a ditch, preventing further access. The incident occurred around 18:20, prompting a swift response from Airport Police and Gardaí. Flights were delayed until operations resumed at 19:30.
The three suspects were arrested and are being held under Ireland’s Criminal Justice Act as investigations continue.
