Dense fog over Seville on Thursday prompted Aena to divert five incoming flights to alternative airports in Andalusia. Four flights originally bound for Seville—from Amsterdam (Transavia A321neo HV6729), Brussels (Transavia B737-800 HV9077), Eindhoven (Transavia B737-800 HV5085) and Birmingham (Ryanair B737 MAX 8 FR9378)—were rerouted to Málaga, while another flight arriving from Gran Canaria (Binter E195-E2 NT5752) was diverted to Jerez de la Frontera.
Aena later confirmed that visibility conditions in Seville had largely improved and that no further diversions were expected at the time of the update. However, the same fog system also affected other major Spanish airports, including Madrid-Barajas and Palma de Mallorca, where reduced visibility led to delays in flight operations.
