Prague Airport nears pre-pandemic record with 17.8 million passengers in 2025

Share

Prague Václav Havel Airport handled 17.75 million passengers in 2025, marking an 8.5% year-on-year increase and bringing traffic close to its 2019 record level. Growth was achieved despite external challenges such as geopolitical instability, aircraft delivery delays, and technical issues affecting new fleets.

The airport recorded 140,545 flight movements, still 7% below 2019 levels, reflecting airlines’ shift toward larger aircraft and higher load factors—supporting both efficiency and reduced environmental impact. During the year, 19 new destinations were launched, including long-haul services to Abu Dhabi (Etihad), Sharjah (Air Arabia), Toronto (Air Canada, seasonal), and a daily connection to Seoul with Asiana Airlines. More than 70 existing routes also saw added capacity.

London remained the busiest route with over 1.3 million passengers, followed by Paris, Amsterdam, Istanbul, and Frankfurt. By country, the United Kingdom ranked first (2.2 million passengers), ahead of Italy and Spain. In total, 84 airlines served 194 destinations, with low-cost carriers accounting for 45% of passengers and international traffic rising to 58.5%.

Looking ahead to 2026, Prague Airport expects up to 18.9 million passengers, with 195 destinations and 85 airlines confirmed. New routes will include American Airlines to Philadelphia, multiple Eurowings leisure destinations, AJet to Bodrum, and additional services from Wizz Air and easyJet.
