Portugal’s airports handled a record 72.5 million passengers in 2025, up 4.7% year on year, according to VINCI Group data for airports operated by ANA.
Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport remained the country’s largest hub, processing 36.1 million passengers, a 2.9% increase compared with 2024. VINCI highlighted particularly strong growth in long-haul traffic to Asia and Latin America.
Porto Airport saw 16.9 million passengers (+6.3%), with growth driven by expanded low-cost airline offerings and a rise in transatlantic routes. Faro Airport also posted solid gains, welcoming 10.4 million passengers (+5.8%).
The strongest growth was recorded in Madeira, where passenger numbers exceeded 5.6 million, an increase of 12%. In contrast, the Azores experienced more moderate growth, with traffic rising 2.7% to 3.3 million passengers.
Overall, VINCI said the results confirm sustained demand across Portugal’s airport network, with regional variations reflecting differing market dynamics and route development.
