Groupe ADP will significantly simplify the passenger journey at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) by renaming all terminals and departure lounges in March 2027. The initiative follows recurring feedback from international and connecting passengers who report difficulty navigating the airport, despite CDG being ranked the best European airport for four consecutive years and serving as the EU’s busiest hub.
The renaming will coincide with the launch of the CDG Express rail link, providing rapid premium access between central Paris and the airport. From March 2026, airlines that sell tickets one year in advance will begin incorporating the new terminology.
Under the new, internationally aligned system, terminals will be numbered sequentially from Terminal 1 to Terminal 7, eliminating the current mix of letters and numbers such as “2E Hall M.” Once inside the secure area, departure lounges will be designated by letters only. Parking facilities will share the same number as their corresponding terminal, making wayfinding more intuitive—particularly for the more than 30 percent of passengers who connect through CDG daily.
The project requires extensive coordination across 900 companies and 90,000 airport employees. Between September and December 2026, more than 3,000 terminal signs, 600 parking signs, and 250 roadway signs will be replaced. Internal systems—including 10,000 CCTV cameras and hundreds of airport IT applications—must also be reconfigured. The new signage will be revealed in March 2027.
