On Thursday 5 September, Lufthansa Technik AG and Aerocircular NV will sign a framework agreement to dismantle aircraft in Ostend.

Within this framework agreement, Aerocircular will provide the service for the dismantling of aircraft supplied by Lufthansa Technik AG. These aircraft are end-of-life aircraft from the Lufthansa Group or potentially from other airlines purchased by Lufthansa Technik AG for spare parts.

Aerocircular won the tender procedure for this framework agreement involving up to 15 aircraft for dismantling, coming to Ostend over the next years.

Lufthansa Technik AG resolutely opts for Aerocircular’s business model, which aims to reuse all materials originating from aircraft in the most sustainable and ecological way possible, as opposed to the ‘traditional’ method of demolition.

Lufthansa Technik AG is very pleased with the way in which Aerocircular dismantled an Airbus A340 for them at Frankfurt airport earlier this year.

The first Airbus A320 aircraft landed at the beginning of July at Ostend airport. A second A320 is expected at the end of October.

The aircraft will be dismantled in a new sustainable hangar that is almost completed at the airport. Aerocircular expects to be able to start its daily operations in Ostend in mid-October of this year. In the meantime, Aerocircular will dismantle a number of aircraft for Lufthansa Technik AG at various locations in Germany.
