On 21 August, a Cessna private jet (registration currently unknown) aborted take-off at Oroville Airport, California, United States and went off the runway into dry grass while bursting into flames. Two pilots and eight passengers – with minor injuries only – were able to safely evacuate the aircraft.
Emergency services rushed to the site to extinguish the aircraft and the surrounding grasses, the aircraft burned out completely.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will investigate why the take-off was aborted. The jet was scheduled to fly from Oroville to the Portland International Airport.
