Côte d’Azur Airports meet all 2025 targets with record traffic and sustainability milestones

Share

Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur successfully achieved all its 2025 objectives, combining record passenger traffic with operational efficiency, regional connectivity and leading environmental performance.

Nice Côte d’Azur Airport handled 15.23 million commercial passengers in 2025, a 3.2% increase year-on-year, while aircraft movements rose by a more modest 1.9% to 163,052, reflecting higher load factors and increased aircraft capacity. International traffic grew by 4.7%, offsetting a slight 0.3% decline in domestic passengers. Scheduled long-haul traffic increased by 5.8%, supported by new services to Washington and Dakar.

Business aviation activity across Nice Côte d’Azur, Cannes Mandelieu and Golfe de Saint-Tropez airports also strengthened, with movements up 4%.

Operational performance was delivered alongside major infrastructure works. The first phase of the Terminal 2 extension at Nice opened in spring 2025, adding expanded passport control, a larger non-Schengen boarding area, new retail and dining facilities, and a refurbished VIP lounge. The full extension, including new boarding lounges, check-in areas and baggage systems, is due to be operational by the 2026 peak season. A large-scale artwork by local artist César Malfi now marks the site, enhancing the passenger experience.

On sustainability, Nice became the first French airport of its category to achieve Level 5 Airport Carbon Accreditation, the highest level, five years ahead of its net-zero target. The airport has reduced its own emissions by at least 90% and implemented a full value-chain decarbonisation roadmap. In parallel, Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur received the EcoVadis Gold Medal, placing it in the top 5% of companies globally and the top 1% in its sector for environmental, social, ethical and responsible procurement performance.

Overall, 2025 confirmed the French Riviera airports’ ability to balance growth, infrastructure development and environmental leadership.
