Munich Airport’s Terminal 1 expansion is on track, with the new non-Schengen pier set to open in the first half of 2026. The 360-metre-long extension will handle up to six million passengers annually, with capacity for 12 smaller aircraft or 6 wide-body jets.
Designed for airlines like Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad, Delta, and American Airlines, the new pier will feature centralised security checks with CT technology, modern check-in areas, spacious lounges, retail and dining options, and relaxation zones.
The project, costing €665 million, aims to enhance both capacity and passenger comfort, positioning the pier as Bavaria’s new gateway for international travellers.
