Munich Airport recorded close to 20 million passengers in the first half of 2025—a 3.6% year-on-year increase—driven by high demand for U.S. and Far East connections.
Intercontinental traffic rose nearly 9%, with over 1.5 million U.S.-bound travellers and more than one million heading to key Asian destinations such as Bangkok, Singapore, Tokyo, and Beijing.
Air freight also grew 7.6% to 161,000 tonnes.
Total flight movements reached over 161,000, bolstered by a record Pentecost travel period. Operational performance remained strong thanks to major investments in staffing, training, and new technologies, including upgraded security systems. Over 90% of passengers experienced minimal wait times at checkpoints.
