Startup airline Maastricht CityLiner plans to launch operations in May 2019 with one Embraer ERJ145 aircraft in a 42-seat configuration.
Initially, the airline would be flying from Maastricht to Munich or London, a cautious start with only one scheduled route operated twice-daily.
The carrier is backed by 8 million euros in seed funding from local financiers.
The aircraft will be operated by Hasselt-based ASL-JetNetherlands.
Previous initiatives to start an airline at Maastricht Aachen Airport, such as Maastricht Airlines or Wings of Maastricht, did all fail at an early stage.
