London Heathrow sets April passenger record with industry-leading punctuality and service

London Heathrow Airport experienced its busiest April ever in 2024, with nearly 7.1 million passengers—a 6% increase year-on-year and the first time April traffic surpassed 7 million.

The airport also led major European hubs in departure punctuality and maintained high service standards, with 99% of bags delivered on time and 97% of passengers clearing security in under five minutes.

The Easter holiday saw nearly 1 million travellers over one weekend, with Easter Monday setting a new arrivals record.

In early May, the London Heathrow–New York JFK route reached one million passengers for the year, underscoring Heathrow’s strong North American connectivity.
