The European Commission has approved, under the European Merger Regulation, the acquisition of Ivy Topco Limited, based in the Cayman Islands, a holding company that indirectly controls Gatwick Airport Limited based in the United Kingdom, by VINCI Airports, a subsidiary of the French group VINCI.
Gatwick Airport Limited owns and operates Gatwick Airport in the London area. VINCI Airports manages and operates airports all over the world, all located outside Great Britain.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns, given the limited overlap between the trading activities of the merging parties. The transaction was examined as part of the normal merger control procedure.
Further information is available on the Commission’s competition website in the public case register under the case number M.9270.
