On 11 December, a Vistajet Global Express (9H-VJM) private jet ran off the northern side of taxiway “Echo” just after landing on runway 27 at Liverpool Airport, United Kingdom.
The aircraft came in from Hanscom Airport, United States and carried 3 crew members and one passenger, believed to be one of Liverpool FC’s owners. As a result, the airport authorities were forced to close the airport. Arriving traffic has been diverted to nearby Manchester Airport. At moment of writing (13:00 UTC +1), the airport is still closed.
The U.K.’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch has sent a team to Liverpool to investigate the accident.
