Van der Valk has announced the start of construction on a new 182-room four-star hotel at Liège Airport, set to open in April 2027. The 17,000 m² complex will feature a 250-seat restaurant, panoramic sky bar with terrace, 10 meeting rooms, an 800 m² wellness and fitness area, and extensive parking with EV charging stations.
The project marks the group’s 5th hotel in the Province of Liège and aims to strengthen synergies with the airport, which hosts 160 companies and 11,000 jobs. Positioned as a driver of growth for Wallonia’s leading economic hub, the hotel underscores Van der Valk’s focus on conviviality, accessibility, and hospitality excellence.
According to Christian Delcourt, Director of Communication at Liège Airport, the new hotel will primarily cater to the airport community, especially as TUIfly Belgium ceases its last passenger flights from Liège in 2026. Demand is already strong: the only current on-site hotel, the three-star Park Inn, is constantly fully booked.
