Kraków John Paul II International Airport reported the strongest year in its history in 2025, handling a record 13.25 million passengers and cementing its position as Poland’s largest regional airport.
Passenger traffic rose by around 25 percent year on year, up from roughly 11.1 million in 2024. The airport passed the 13-million-passenger mark on Christmas Day, underlining the pace of growth throughout the year.
December was particularly strong, with 1.1 million passengers—more than 200,000 higher than the same month in 2024. Flight activity also increased sharply, with over 7,300 more aircraft movements recorded in December compared with a year earlier.
Chief executive Lukasz Strutynski said Krakow Airport had entered the category of large European airports, serving between 10 and 25 million passengers annually, and described it as the growth leader within that group.
In 2025, the airport offered 176 routes to 135 destinations across 38 countries, operated by 29 airlines. Kraków remains Poland’s second-busiest airport overall, behind Warsaw Chopin, but its growth trajectory highlights its rising importance in the Central and Eastern European aviation market.
