Share

Katowice Wojciech Korfanty International Airport reported record-breaking traffic in May 2025, handling 655,818 passengers, a 12.5% increase (+72,707) over May 2024, making it the busiest May in the airport’s history.

Key figures for May 2025:

  • Regular flights: 312,359 passengers (+10.2% YoY)
  • Charter flights: 342,127 passengers (+14.7% YoY)
  • Total aircraft movements: 4,863 (+6.9% YoY)

Growth was driven by Wizz Air’s expansion, including the addition of a sixth aircraft to its Katowice base and the launch of new routes to Pisa, Chisinau, and Madrid.

January–May 2025 highlights:

  • 2.17 million passengers handled (+16.3% YoY)
  • 1.25 million on regular flights (+7.6%)
  • 905,154 on charter flights (+28.8%)
  • 17,461 takeoffs and landings (+9.0%)

Katowice Airport expects to serve 7 million passengers in 2025, surpassing the 2024 record of 6.39 million. It remains a leader in Poland’s charter flight market and a key player in the country’s cargo operations.
