For the second day in a row, Hong Kong Airport has decided to cancel all remaining flights due to ongoing pro-democracy protests in the airport’s terminal.
Thousands of anti-government protesters flooded the terminal buildings, forcing the airport authorities to cancel all outbound flights. The protesters want to highlight their calls for democratic reforms in the semi-autonomous Chinese territory. Hong Kong’s Chief Executive Carrie Lam warned the ongoing protests were plunging the city into dangerous territory.
The airport urges passengers to directly contact their airline of travel. All passengers are advised to leave the terminal buildings as soon as possible. Please check with your airline for the latest information and status of your flight.
