In the overall ranking of “The World’s Top 100 Airports 2018”, Hamburg Airport made it into the top 30. Hamburg ranked 25th this year, up from 27th the previous year. And Hamburg can be pleased with its showing in the global category of “The World’s Best Regional Airports 2018”, too. Northern Germany’s largest airport took out second place here, outranked only by Chubu Centrair International Airport Nagoya (Japan). In 2017, Hamburg Airport ranked third worldwide.
Michael Eggenschwiler, Chief Executive Officer at Hamburg Airport, is delighted by the award. “Winning the Skytrax World Airport Award for the fourth time is a testimony to our daily efforts to make travel comfortable and convenient for passengers. With new services, offering genuine added value for our passengers, we are continuing to enhance our airport and raise the level of passenger satisfaction. My thanks go out to the airlines and our partners at the airport, together with whom we offer passengers an optimal travel experience 365 days of the year. The strong commitment of our staff over the past year, too, made this fantastic result possible. I am proud to have such a motivated workforce.”

Rightfully so, Hamburg is a nice airport! I would add Oslo to that list too, but perhaps that’s a bigger airport …
