Hamburg Airport was forced to close down on Wednesday evening after a WW2 bomb was found in Hamburg-Schnelsen, just West of the German airport. No flights are departing or landing. It is undetermined when the airport can reopen.
The airport wrote on its website that: “all travellers should stay in contact with their booked airlines via https://www.hamburg-airport.de/en/timetable_and_airlines.php”
An Emirates Airlines Airbus A380 diverted to Copenhagen, Denmark while other aircraft diverted to Hannover and Bremen.
UPDATE: the airport reopened around 23:00.
