Anaisio Guedes, the proprietor of Arte Gallery, carefully selects each individual artwork. “I only exhibit artworks that I would buy myself,” he explains. “I also place great value on exhibiting art that can be purchased at an affordable price. The aim of my exhibition is to make art mobile and accessible for everyone.”
The price categories for works of art at Arte Gallery cover the widest range of budgets, ranging from 99 euros up to 10,000 euros. Works by Hamburg artists are also included – for example from the painters Susanne Wind and U.C. Kutter and the sculptor Johannes Koetz. The 3D sculptures from Frederic Daty are particularly striking. They represent skylines of famous cities, Hamburg amongst them. Arte Gallery will initially exhibit at Hamburg Airport until May 2017.
Variety-filled shopping experience thanks to pop-up stores.
The Arte Gallery at the airport is already the second exhibition operated by Anaisio Guedes. He has another “pop-up” gallery in the Hamburg borough of Eppendorf; his galleries are erected and then dismantled again at regular intervals. Hamburg Airport has also been pursuing this approach for one of its shops for several months now. Since the beginning of October, a 23-m² pop-up store on the Passenger Pier, with alternating tenants, is varying the shopping experience. The first tenant, Samsonite, is offering premium suitcases and bags for around six months.
The pop-up store is part of Hamburg Airport’s newly designed Pier atmosphere. In 2016, several waiting areas at the gates were modernised. The new designs have a typical Hamburg touch. More gates will follow in the first half of 2017. The pop-up store has also been designed to reflect the themes of trade, merchant houses and the warehouse district, with a bright and transparent feeling. Typical motifs from the city communicate Hamburg’s unique flair. The pop-up store is also directly integrated with the Gate A17 waiting area, so that passengers can shop in the immediate vicinity of their boarding gate.
