Looking for new getaway ideas with direct flights? Starting the Summer season, which debuts on 26 March 2017, Genève Aéroport offers some novelties in its air services. These should satisfy travellers looking for adventures off the beaten path.
Main operator in Geneva, the airline easyJet completes its air network to France with two weekly flights to Calvi and three to Marseille.
The recently launched line to Krakow (Poland) is extended for this summer period. For the first time departing from Geneva, Montenegro, via Tivat, is offered once a week.
The company Air Baltic proposes Riga (in Latvia) 3 times per week, a privileged access to the Baltic countries, Scandinavia and part of the Eastern Europe.
Air Berlin with a daily flight to Düsseldorf and Eurowings 6 times a week to Munich increase the network to Germany.
Other seaside novelties, Brest twice a week with Etihad Regional, Las Palmas a weekly flight with Vueling and Monastir a weekly flight with Tunisair.
Increases in frequency are also announced on several destinations among which Malta (easyJet), Reykjavik (Icelandair) and Lisbon (SWISS).
Starting May, Qatar Airways will offer its new aircraft A-350 for its daily flights to Doha.
Besides numerous improvements, the rapid development of air transport leads however to the decrease or even cancellation of routes, for reasons of strategy or profitability. Thus, SWISS withdraws from Algiers, Lugano, Lamezia Terme, Skopje and Etihad Regional from Florence, Venice, and Valencia. The Romanian company Tarom also cancels its flight to Bucharest.
Overall, 50 airlines will link Geneva to 119 destinations during the 2017 summer season.
