Eindhoven Airport was closed for about 30 minutes on Friday morning after a 51-year-old woman on TUI fly Netherlands flight OR3043 to Antalya claimed she had a bomb in her luggage.
Her suitcase, located in the cargo hold of Boeing 737-800 with Belgian registration OO-TUK, was examined by explosives experts, but no bomb was found. The woman was arrested and is being questioned, with possible legal and airline consequences pending.
The false alarm caused flight delays and diverted one Ryanair flight (FR7472 from Porto, Boeing 737 MAX 8 reg. EI-HGP) to Weeze Airport in Germany and another one (FR2575 from Malaga, Boeing 737 MAX 8 reg. 9H-VVD) to Brussels Airport, but normal operations resumed by early afternoon.
