Flight operations at Eindhoven Airport resumed late Saturday after multiple drone sightings forced a temporary suspension of takeoffs and landings earlier in the evening.
Outgoing Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans said the ministry had implemented unspecified “security measures” in response to the reports but declined to provide details. Indeed, Eindhoven Airport also hosts a large military base.
A Transavia flight arriving from Tenerife was among the first aircraft cleared to land once restrictions were lifted. During the disruption, several flights were diverted to airports including Amsterdam Schiphol, Rotterdam, Brussels and Weeze.
